Aims The Hospitality training Foundation is the National Training Organisation for the hospitality industry. As such, HtF has a remit to ensure that the education and training provided to support and develop skills, meet the needs of our industry stakeholders.

HtF also have specific responsibilities for developing the occupational standards for our industry, and reviewing them on a regular basis. In addition to this, HtF research and develop the Modern Apprenticeship frameworks for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with a separate framework for Scotland.

HtF also undertakes Labour Market Intelligence (LMI), research to evaluate the structure and skills-base within the sector. HtF publish two titles to disseminate LMI; the annual "Labour Market Review" and the bi-annual training survey, "Look who''s training." Both publications can be ordered directly from HtF.

HtF Scotland carry out a number of activities in addition to the contribution they make to our UK objectives, notably project work. Such project work is undertaken to fulfill specific localised objective, such as stimulating demand for training, or broader strategic objections such as evaluating ICT as a learning medium for hospitality students and employees.

HtF Scotland also ensure that the unique political, legal, education and training system of Scotland is fully reflected within the work of the HtF as a whole.
